CHRISTEEN - Teenagers for Christ.

Apart from the publications and programmes Christeen ministers a host of other faith oriented services to make the children's were followers of God.

Being a spiritual organization, Christeen is a movement driven by prayer. A full time intercessory ministry of dedicated animators, keep on praying for the various needs of people from all walks of life, especially the students. This is really fruitful as we have been receiving plenty of testimonies from students, their parents and teachers.

Christeen keeps vigil on all Second Saturdays and prays for the whole world, especially for children. It is a day of blessings which helps to transform the darkness from mind to the everlasting divine light. This night vigil is held under the spiritual guidance of the intercessory ministry.

A loving and touching word can heal a wounded heart much better than any medicine. And what would be the peace and joy one would experience, if the caring word is from the Lord? Yes, this is our letter ministry. The letters received at Christeen are prayerfully read out by our letter ministry and each letter is replied to personally, with proper guidance and appropriate message. Testimonials reveal that Christeen's Letter Ministry is really fruitful and a blessing to the desperate, especially students.

Christeen provides a stage for children and their parents to open and discuss their various personal problems so that necessary instructions and guidance can be provided to come out from their unhealthy and unholy aspirations and feelings in their mind and thinking.

Every family resembles the Holy Family. In such a way, all of us are required to lead a pleasing life to each other to fulfill the desire and motto of our Saviour Christ. For this, better understanding and warm relationship among the family members are essential. In order to boost the role and responsibility of each member of a family, be it the father or the son, a common forum would be a desideratum, which can provide enough opportunities to share and hear the sorrows, stress and opinions of all members of the family. Moreover, this would help to abridge the gap between parent-child, husband-wife relationships, if any. This is the motive behind family retreat.

There are a lot of committed people including youth, priests and nuns who are desirous of serving children. Christeen hosts various orientation/training programs for them. Animators are provided enough opportunities as to learn and understand the policies, psychological and physical peculiarities of children especially teenagers. Ten days training program twice in a year is conducted at Christeen center, to form a well trained group to serve and guide the children, and to attend to their problems and desires. Christeen central team co-ordinates this program and nearly 80 trained animators come out after every training program.

It is also apt to mention here that besides the above programs, we have arranged special training programs for school and catechism teachers.

Christeen office at Kottayam co-ordinates all our activities ranging from publications to outside programs. Christeen office consists of a dedicated team of nearly 25 youths who provide sincere and committed service. Christeen office is where Christeen publications takes shape. The Editorial section, Graphics division and the Circulation wing contribute major role in the successful running of these publications. Accounts and administration department supervises all activities in the office, which include communications, correspondences etc. Everyday, service in office starts with a morning prayer for one hour. Periodical staff meetings are held to discuss various issues and plans.

A new spiritual channel is been launched from September in the name ‘Shalom’. Christeen is doing the children’s program in this channel. Bro. Santhosh T. is one among the Director Board members of Shalom and Ms. P.V.Marykutty is one of the advisory board members. Shooting has been already started in the Christeen center with selected children. Through this channel we hope to extend our reach and to touch many lives in future.
