A charitable organization like Christeen, which does not have any sustainable regular income, finds it very difficult to keep on its regular accomplishments. The timely and regular release of the publications involves a gigantic financial investment which has to be found out from the subscribers/agents remittances and donations and other love-offerings we receive. But this at most occasions, seems to be insufficient as we do not have much revenue from our journals. This results in outside borrowings and loans and advances are availed for the day to day affairs. As such, Christeen now runs with shortage of funds and the developmental works are adversely affected due to this financial crisis.

In our retreats almost twenty percent of the participants are non Christians. For them the retreats are free. On an average three hundred people gather for each retreat. Per head a fees of Rs.250 is being charged. Therefore we have to find an excess of Rs.15000 per retreat in this regard. This adds to our financial liabilities.

Christeen is formed as a Charitable Trust under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 of India and our registration number is 221/99. Christeen has sound financial management that ensures integrity and accountability. Our accounts are audited by a Chartered Accountant and necessary returns are filed before the concerned authorities, as per the rules, in due time.

PRESENT REQUIREMENTS

More children and parents are availing Christeen services now. The need for expanding and boosting our services and programs to more children is now called for. In order to expand and streamline our activities, the present infrastructure we now posses is quite insufficient and hence we need to make more facilities and arrangements for spreading our services to a wider group.

Christeen’s previous retreat hall was not adequate enough to cater the demands we receive from children. Hence a permanent retreat hall with capacity to seat 500 children was constructed. A lot of additional facilities are yet to be provided to make this centre self sufficient. As stated earlier, being a charitable organization, Christeen is not in a position to raise sufficient funds for this purpose internally. We therefore need external help, as our master plan involves a gigantic financial investment to the tune of Rupees 20Lakhs in Indian currency. Almost Rupees 20Lakhs have already been spent for the hall to be in the present state. Still lot of work have to be done like plastering of walls, fixing ceiling for the roof, covering the side portion, dias construction, electrical work, mike set and speakers etc. We hope more good Samaritans will come forward to help us to complete this divine venture.
